MY LIFE

By Samantha Bohlert

See, I look at reality and I know who I am.  I’m not a model or a superstar nor have I been where they been.  I traveled a road that was rugged, I stumbled part of the way.  I lived for tomorrow, I forgot about the past and ran through the present day.

My friends most had left me, my family they disowned.  I traveled to dangerous places, there streets I did roam.  I found instant gratification in a object the size of a pea.  It changed my whole appearance.  I went from ok to crack headality.

Now society will call me an outcast, while politicians call it a crime.  My grand mom calls it pitiful to sell your ass for nicks and dimes.  My children barely speak to me; their embarrassed by my ways, my son says he’s hip to me.  If I beg to borrow until I get paid.

Now the preachers and the doctors all say it’s a matter of time, the ones say’s its medicine, the others say I’m blind.  I’m alone in an alleyway, my clothes are tattered and torn, my hair is a mess and my stash is all gone.

I look up through the building to the heavens above.  I ask GOD to send his angels with his unfailing love.  I beg them for forgiveness of all of my sins.  They tell me that he loves me and a new life I can begin.

Now that road I told you was rugged, I had stumbled half the way.  I now walk it straight, yet never forgetting yesterday.  My friends and family maybe leery but everything takes time.  As long as I trust in Jesus, my life will be just fine.

Keep trust in God everyday because he is always with you.

Poetry is what is lost in translation.
