    Monarch

Beneath the wings of a monarch
there is a breeze of indifference

Life is no more than a time honored surface
riddled with stipulations and expectancy yet flowers still bloom

I suppose that the day and the night are not that different
the importance of our take on varied instances
reflects the true color of unfilled weightiness

    The monarch flutters
almost seemingly floating atop careening winds

    As a child, at some point or another we all wanted to fly;
effortless yet awe inspiring flight due to the unlikelihood

In thought I mock the monarch
patterning days on a bold orange and black palette
    seeking seasonal endeavors

    You too can fly
unabashed aviation tasting the glory of freedom
that could cause the most parched of mouths to salivate

Gratitude to a degree, for living is most important….

    More important than any feebleminded
    secularly charged, professionally installed,
    land dwelling, average onlooker

You are above that and your flight is preeminent
    soliciting dreams of the soul

    Ageless, carefree, boundless energy
dancing amongst the clouds and stars
cocooned butterflies of a happy place we aim to fly free
