for you have persevered through
time’s limitations and danced with fate
Giving up is never an option
because life has boundless passages used to motivate
We all have moments of vulnerability
but it is not how your emotions cry out
but what you do when you collect your thoughts
that defines character
Characterized by your tolerance for pain
by balancing smiles and frowns
each minus and each gain
Respected by your peers
not waiting for scars to heal
the progress of a born leader anticipating change
Blessed to understand
that the path taken was dug out by design
So even more than your decision to react
perception based planning
can force you to hold hands with your mind
Accept only what you cannot change
and decide your place in history
by living for the happiness here to obtain
Question only the obvious
and see the sky for every adjective
for the cries of laughter are the joys of pain
