March 18, 2003
It seemed so long to wait, the day that we found out
Expect March eighteenth, two thousand and three
"You have no idea what you're in for!", went warnings from my peers
Why must everyone find doubt in this new father to be
The days we have are sixty-one until she arrives
Then everything began to happen so fast
My baby girl just wanted her daddy
So early she came and is here at last
Doctors said you would have to stay for a while
And with the stubborness of your father alone
You grinned at them so sheepishly
Thinking all the while, "I'll prove you wrong!"
I look at you, my beautiful baby girl
So tight you grip me with little hands
So tiny you are, my precious doll
I am already your number one fan
I watch you sleep for it is all that you do
Gazing upon your face as you play in your dreams
You grunt and you groan and you adorably squeak
I melt with every sound you make, or so it seems
I have lived my fair share of tribulations
All of it matters not when you are with me
The toils of life demand my attention every passing day
But here at home you are the only world I see
I want to love you rotten forever, but that just will not do
To hold you in my arms forever still would not suffice
She is daddy's little girl and I admit you have me wrapped
So I shall be here, just for you, the duration of this known life
Expect March eighteenth, two thousand and three
"You have no idea what you're in for!", went warnings from my peers
Why must everyone find doubt in this new father to be
The days we have are sixty-one until she arrives
Then everything began to happen so fast
