i see a light at the end of the tunnel, but no matter how long i walk i can't reach

turn left still see it and it gets brighter, keep straight for a while and it gets lighter

walk for hours in the same direction but it gets no closer to my grasp

i start to walk right for a while and i see it as it starts to dim

i start to run and it illuminates the den and i run at a quick brisk as it dims

i stop and stare deep down into the light wondering why i cannot seem to win

then as if it likes being chased it brightens again

why does it run and come back to play with me

i'm tired of following it i should just let it be

but i want to get out of this tunnel it's wet and dark

if i turn back now i know i wouldn't want to restart

all these turns and thing have led me to nothing but false hope

runninng in circles, but finally i have reached what i have pursued for so long

just a small flame in a hole -tricked- now all hope is gone

it has now started to flicker out and it's death has raised my doubt

i have chased this flame around for years but at what cost

this flames only purpose in its short lifetime was to show me that

I've been MISLEAD and LOST
