Light show
We try not to get lost in the thoughts when often broken hearts get lost in the little sparks of the Fourth of July varietyThough lost we often are hypnotized by the flickering and fluttering of a short lived euphoria
A flash here a sparkle there
Just when all seems beautiful and exciting the lights fade and we are left in the dark
Searching for the next fuse to fuel our next fix
Gripping tight to life's zippo ensuring a fresh flint
Like yo I can't take no chances cuz the next one might be it
You know, that grand finally fire work show type love
That extremely illegal high flying type love
Loud bangs and flashes that could leave us with permanent damage if we don't handle with care type love
We want them bottle rockets, m80's,
Enough to drive the neighbors crazy,
But there just hating cuz they settled for a $50 box of sparklers while we got that Disneyland show type love
Call the cops... Haters
Cuz all I know is I got that type of love that they talk about now.
Then when next year comes around they wonder what I'm pulling out of the garage type love.
Fire works in mysterious ways
Burning imprints of danger and innocence in our brains.
We crave the flash and the bang but are weary of the pain so we proceed with caution or sit back and watch while others light the flames
Shower us in vibrance while we admire in silence
Trying to understand why we are unable to create that Big Bang
I don't know,
It's just another light show,
Just another spectacle,
Just another way to fill our desires
Through high lights and fire
Fluorescent flames dance in the sky
And I know it's just a show but
I Can't resist them.
