    Life

    Dry earth
    First signs of bloom
    The evergreens wave
    A silent hello
    As the wind whips
    The smell of life
    Once again

    A diamond in the sky
    As I squint
    Its tepid touch
    Felt
    Upon my face
    As it reaches
    Down towards me
    Warming me
    Entirely

    Swirling leaves
    Fall forth
    To the ground below
    Crumpling
    Against the earth
    Reminding
    It is time
    To live
    Once again
    I breathe in
    With a smile
    Life

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
