    Caustic Strokes

    Stark sadness
    Gone from me
    My passion of red
    A darkened hue
    Merely a clouded gore

    Once a raging fire
    No longer such intensity
    Like a faded ember

    Caustic strokes
    Bluster the surface
    Bleeding through
    Flooding my skin

    It hurts
    I cannot breathe
    Heaviness has come
    Upon me
    Within me
    Defiling me

    I reproach myself
    But was it I
    Was it to be
    I am not aware

    Of this Im sure
    I loved
    I love
    I breathed
    I breathe
    Is it to be
    No more....

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
