    ... in the morning

    fingertip over fingertip
tracing the tiny curves of her hip
like a war about to begin
when silence speaks the fear of men

and the sheets fold over with grace
covering skin with a soft embrace
the shadows dance across her thigh
as she slowly adjusts from side to side

    i attempt to move silently
    every breath exhaled violently
disturbing the dust, frozen in air
captured by sunlight and thrown without care

i'll try to slide over closer
to feel her heat but not disturb her
my fingers entwined in her hair
a suspended second holding her there

right about then, she starts to wake
half open eyes cause my heart to shake
she grazes my face with a tired grin
    and drifts back to sleep,
    alone again

This was really good, sexual, but touching. I enjoyed it immensely.

Thank you so much. I'm really glad you liked it :)

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
