In Goshen on rt. 10
They flew over in the darkening sky
In long irregular vees as I drove on nigh
It was almost, but not quite too dark to fly
I heard them over the motor as I drove by
Their course altered as their wings did ply
I looking up, they looking down did espy
Each the other who was more curious them or I
The road to their flight did no longer comply
I traveled on to Newport with a heavy sigh
And they to Sunapee and there the night to lie
