Poem Commentary

I wrote this as therapy for my self.  I get alone and write.  It's wonderful for me.
Hope you all like it.
Your friend, Janie

The blackbirds that flew in the misty air that morning were like an allegory, a dark image of instant passing, like the burial of my son that day.  They had come and they had gone.  When we see doves flying we see symbols of lightness, a representation of a beautiful day ahead of us which is only what we really want to feel inside, images of lightness not darkness.

As we walk our journey on this earth we will have to choose which image we wish to see, what it represents and how we will process it.  What image will you choose?  In the misty air will we choose the blackbirds swarming as we bid them to come and stay?  Hopefully, a testimonial of lightness, a position of grace you have made to walk your journey with elegance, style, poise, and charm, like the beautiful images of the doves.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
