    Poem Commentary

After listening to a spot of music I began to wonder what it would be like being in love with a stripper. I imagine that it would take a person with the ability to see past her perfecsion. I also imagine the skeptical response that would greet him.

I'm in love with a stripper

When it was all said and done
    We laid there, together.
    In a moment of defining
    Deafening silence, we did.

I now can say I know her.
    After hours of passion,
rubbing her desires against my own,
    I entered her mind.

*sigh* she wanted to be a ballerina.
    Now, constantly trapped
    In a world of fallacy,
    She dances around the issue;
    Does she really love me?

I saw into her being and
    It makes me wonder,
    What becomes of the being
That has given up on being happy?

Now she wonders when will I move on.
Constantly contemplating when i will move on.
Waiting for me                  to move   on.
She hopes this feeling of love moves on.

Only heart break has been constant for her
    So she rations time,
Never stopping  to  see that I'm,
    In love with her.

Who knew T-pain could inspire a creative and excellent piece such as this poem. Thumbs up.

This is a good piece that shows both sides of the spectrum. I believe it could be this way for both parties but also believe it could be much worse. When I heard this song the first time I thought about the same thing. What would that be like? Thanks for sharing.

it is so easy to fall into love, but not so easy to have the feeling reciprocated...the tragic nature of the situation is well portrayed in your piece....good write

Good poem. I hear the love and hope that the man has, and the despair of the woman. Each coming from their own cave.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
