I'll Dream of More
I’ll Dream of More
Taronis – 2003 – for a young girl that thinks I’m kewl
I was once young and unsure
But I am a guy, and you are a gal
Could it be different, the uncertainty
The paths are numerous
The time seems boundless
I was once insecure and vexed
Insecure about what may be
Vexed by what was not
The paths open and wide
I strained to look beyond the bends
I felt much of what you feel
But differently from my eyes
You are a gal, and I am a guy
Could it be different, the uncertainty
Boundless at your age
I can offer only what I have learned
And hope to never misguide your step
So free, so young, a peppered sprite
Wide-eyed and hopeful
Bounded by my age
Oft thought fancies of my youth
Separated by two dozen years
A pity that, life’s cruel joke
I’ll offer my friendship
I’ll dream of more
