I THOUGHT THAT I HAD NOTHING

    THERE WAS A DAY
I THOUGHT THAT I HAD NOTHING
IT SEEMED AS THOUGH EVERYTHING HAD
     SLIPPED AWAY

AS TIME WENT ON THAT DAY
I THOUGHT AND THOUGHT AND THOUGHT
    HOW COULD THIS BE HAPPENING
HOW WAS THAT THAT THIS WAS BROUGHT

MAYBE IT WAS I CARED TOO MUCH
FOR THE LOVE THAT I HAD SOUGHT
I HAD THOUGHT THAT IT WOULD LAST FOREVER
PAINFULLY FOUND OUT THAT IT WOULD NOT

    I LEARNED ANOTHER LESSON
IN MY LIFE NOW I'VE BEEN TAUGHT
YES I THOUGHT THAT I HAD NOTHING
BUT THEN REALIZED I HAD A LOT

ALL OF THE THINGS THAT HAVE COME AND GONE
BUT STILL YET I STILL HAD ME

THAT IS THE TREASURE I NOW REALIZE
THAT IT IS ME THAT I HAVE GOT

I like this, unfortunately we go thru this from time to time, I guess it has to be that way to grow, and becoming wise. Loving one self is good but dont love ones self to much.

Yes Billy, our gift's are what Abba father has given to us to use for His glory and honor in the earth, our gift back to Him is the offering of those priceless gifts and expressions of faith in due season...and we know that there is a season for everything, and all events good and bad can be stepping stones to life or downward to destruction and death. Choosing to climb up them, rather than down them, we find great reward in the wisdom and skills and deep understanding that every event in life affords if we view it from an eternal perspective. For He takes what the enemy meant for our harm and turns it to good as we handle every events with a humble and open heart to increase towards Him, and not decrease running away from Him, and so we find ourselves growing up in Him, in all things, progressing into Abba father who shines brilliantly in the beautiful face of Yeshua Messiah, who exudes the full completeness of life, truth and never-ending love to all who seek and put their trust in Him above all others...Returning to Our 1st love..who never leaves nor forsakes us no matter how we may fail..there is always the restoration that comes through repentance.. as His redemptive love hunts us down and brings us back to that place we were before the fall , and takes us home again..and that beloved is a very good thing a?.. love this poem beloved..."SpiritSong" thank you..

There is no getting away from one's self so it is a good thing if we live our lives in a fashion that we can live with.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.
