THE PRETTIEST GIRL ON THE PLANET

SHE SURE WAS LIKE NO OTHER
    THAT WAS PLAIN TO SEE
THE PRETTIEST GIRL ON THE PLANET
    SHE WAS DEFINITLY FOR ME

    SHE WAS HONEST AND OUTSPOKEN
I KNEW SHE'D NEVER LIE TO ME
LIKE I SAID SHE WASN'T LIKE THE OTHERS
WHO TOLD MORE LIESTHAN SALT IN THE SEA

SHE HAD DEEP DARK HAIR AND
    DEEP DARK BROWN EYES
THE PRETTIEST GIRL ON THE PLANET
I AM GOING TO MAKE HER MINE

A SMILE THAT COMES FROM NOWHERE
    BUT COMPLETLY FILLS THE ROOM
WITH MORE RAIDIANCE THAN THE SUNSHINE
    BUT WAS SOFTERTHAN THE MOON

WHEN SHE PUT HER ARMS AROUND ME
THEY HAD MORE WARMTH THAN ACACOON
THE PRETTIEST GIRL ON THE PLANET
    SHE SURE COULDMAKE ME SWOON

THE PRETTIEST GIRL ON THE PLANET
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN THE ROOM

Very simple yet very broad statement about a woman true and beautiful to you Iike the beggining of the poem really caught my eye.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
