Not many out there understand
the pain of loss
Not many know what to say
But for the those who do understand
I thank you
For not saying it'll be okay
when it's not
they're in a better place
doesn't help much either
but for the ones who said not one word
and just held my hand
and let my tears fall upon their shoulder
for the ones who knew
that words at that moment did not help a thing
the ones who knew that being there was more important
i thank you
for all the times that i have cried
to look up and see your face
for all the times i had nightmares
and ran to you first

and for all the ones who supported me
for all the times you held my hand
was each and everytime i've ever felt at peace
