    Hello Stranger

    Hello stranger
    Wanna try?
Me and you against the world
    It’s do or die.
I just met you and you just met me
But something with you makes me not lonely.
    Let’s give it a shot
Maybe we can make it work
What can we lose besides pain and hurt?
    And what can we gain?
    Everything.
The sky is the limit when you give it your all
And an added bonus, we may even fall-
    In love with ourselves
    In love with each other
    In love with the world
    In love under cover.
    I can’t promise that I won’t hurt you
And you can’t swear that you’ll always be true
    But we’re only human beings
    Hey, we make mistakes
    Yeah, we’re all not perfect
    So don’t hit the brakes-
On me and you trying to make due
On me and you starting anew.
So let’s take the first step in this path
And not look ahead to the aftermath
‘Cause when you set things up to fail, they will
But us together could prevail, you never know.
So put your faith in me, make an attempt
You never know why into each other’s lives we were sent
Let’s make the best of the here and now
And not even think of the who, what, when, or how.
    Hello, stranger.
    Wanna try?

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
