He'll See
Just one boy and just one girl.
The friendship they share is true.
He knows all of her secrets, and she knows his
Except that she is hiding a dark secret.
Without a chance to tell him, he makes her smile.
Through the hurt she sees the scars, the truth, the love.
Each time they talk she fakes a smile and pretends everything is okay.
The smile that says, “ I'm not okay.”
Other broken girls tell everyone the whole truth.
But, not this one, she's a nice girl; she doesn't want them to worry.
So she suffers in silence, yet writes her heart out
Hoping one day he will open his eyes and see it all.
He looks into her eyes but can't see her soul.
Only seeing her, but really seeing the mask,
As she closes her eyes and whispers a prayer.
He is happy to be her friend, but it kills her to not tell him the truth.
Every chance she gets she tells herself that
There will be a day when she will tell him everything.
Maybe even a day when he will see the scars.
One day the pain will be swept away.
But when he finally realizes, will it already be too late?
