Guess who...

  • I am the sand that pours down the hour glass awaiting to know if I'm half empty or half full, i am usurped by the power of time...

Guess who...

What am I, who am I,
I desire to be known,
I'm the most popular thing on this planet,
Colorless by nature and king of my filthy throne...

What am I, who am I
I need darkness for my gain,
everybody uses me,
politicians protagonize my name...

What am I, who am I,
designed only to cause confusion,
I've broken treaties, corrupted lives,
told half truths and entire lies...

What am I, who am I
feeling nothing, virtue is meanless,
entropy is my profession, not knowning who to blame,
I shall kill the curiosity, deceit is my favorite game...

I am a liar...

Very nicely done! It's a pleasure to find a creative poem like this. Lies are, indeed, the disease of our (and every) society.

I agree with you, they are deadly disease, more wide spread than H.I.V. Thanks for your comment.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
