Freedom

Freedom

Breathe deeply the fresh air
Relieving all tension and strain
Releasing the poison from inside
Smell freedom

Hear profoundly the slamming of the door
Forgetting all that lurks behind
Leaving the past where it belongs
Hear freedom

Feel desperately the utter joy
Replacing all sorrow and despair
Awakening a sense of peace within
Feel freedom

Taste sweetly life's bountiful offerings
Swallowing every bit of experience
Becoming carefree and resilient
Taste freedom

See clearly the future that lies beyond
Engendering hope of what could be
Turning dreams into real life
See freedom.

Very nice and strategically placed metaphors with a perfect crescendo from smell freedom to hear freedom to feel freedom to at last... See Freedom! FreeBird 02

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
