forever more

Forever More
I will love the woman I have finally become Forever More.
Like a Phoenix risen from the ash am I.
Burnt beyond recognition for so long, was I.
Nothing left but ash so I thought, but then I found an open door.
The door was within my heart, a mirror to my soul.
Broken and beaten down was I,
but deep within beyond where pain had taken it's toll.
Was this creature of beauty
she was strong and rose to fight.
She developed the broken heart, and set it free.
She finally rose to say, NO MORE will I take.
She made the necessary preparation to leave her past and heartache behind.
She was leaving this time, she was determined her words were not fake.
I grew into this woman of endurance, and strength within,
I opened my heart and took the risk,
and found this man of wonder, he smiled sweetly and took her in;
holding her within his heart and soul.
Now I will love him Forever More.
Together they will stand loving Forever More.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
