    "Tingalinga ling school bell ring"
    My heart skips a beat
My thoughts begin to race with visions of you
    And with visions of us
Stealing sacred moments that could never be spoken of
    When I hear those lyrics
The cardiac muscles in my chest automatically flutter
And the world around me halts still
    As a frozen river
    Will the sun ever return
And will those waters once more flow
    Only time will tell
    But until then
    I must brace myself
Everytime I hear that tingalinga linging
    Of the school bells ringing

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
