    Eve

My daughter I call her Eve she means everything to me
She makes me so proud for all that she achieves
She made her way at a very early age
The wisdom she carries will fill page after page
You can be down and staring at the moon
She walks in and smiles it's like sunshine fills the room
You would never know the things she's been through
She doesn't worry about herself she'd rather comfort you
When she walks she holds her head up high
I told her baby don't be like me I want you to touch the sky
I miss her crying with me watching a tv show
Fussing at her to wear a sweater when it was really cold
Her life is well and happy she's everything I knew she could be
If you need someone to inspire you just remember Eve

Wow. They were words from your heart. The time of growing and sharing a life span, you captured it here. Thanks for sharing.

I have two daughters.(both daddy's girls) This reminds me of them. TS

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
