Destinations
When the sun breaks through the morning skyand you heat up your coffee to start the day,
does the sun also rise within you
and what is the first thing you say?
Does your day stop on the couch in a discouraged heap,
do you bounce out the door for a days agenda?
Do you have a destination in life
or float along and wonder where you will end up?
Do you look in the mirror and look away,
dissatisfied with your face or age?
Do you embrace lifes beauty or toss it to the wind?
Do you see life as a gift and renew yourself again?
Every moment is a diamond and despite the dark,
you are still a child with a fountain in your heart.
You choose your destination like you choose your breakfast meal.
Do you say I don't eat breakfast or bring the whole buffet right here?
Do you hear beneath the words when you hear others speak?
Choose to roll over and die, to not stand up when you feel weak?
Do you think you are an island and that life is not much fun
or do you say "To hell with that, I've a better destination"
Despite the halls of darkness that life may walk us through,
when all is said and done, at the end of the day, you are faced with you.
Find your wings and rise up singing,or at least crawl if you simply must.
Polish this day that is your diamond and surround yourself with love.
