Dear Mother, Father
People are leeches. They seduce you with speeches.
The cuddle and cosset
As they turn on the faucet.
They steal your life’s blood away.
They set you down right,
And tuck you in tight—
Tell you the things you want them to say.
They hug you in close,
Closer than most,
Before they steal your life’s blood away
They’ll say that they’ll cry
If you were to die
But they lie
They lie
They lie
The water filled the tub
They say they’ll help you rub
They bring you in
They’ll slit your wrists
And smile as they steal your life’s blood away
