Poem Commentary

Opposites attract, or so they say....

Counterpart

Every rose has an unexpected thorn
and night well surely come after every sunny morn
The ocean's made of ebb and flow
and Summer's heat is before Winter's snow.

And yet they say that opposites attract
though no one knows wether it's a fact.
A counterpart to every good thing
provides balance and even yin-yang.

Very lovely in theme! Very noteworthy in concept! a piece that inspires depth in thought, drawing out gifts from your words! Applause building!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
