    Closer And Farther

    When I close my eyes,
    I can see out,
    Unrestrained,
    Into the vastness of space.
    But it means nothing,
    When I know,
That when I open my eyes,
You will not be there by my side.
I can never touch the stars,
But I can hold you close.
    We are all connected,
We are all made from the stars.
    When we embrace,
    We embrace the cosmos.
Lets become closer to the stars,
    Tonight,
    Then we ever dreamed possible.
    Take my hand,
We will travel into the starlight,
    And in this moment,
I know everything will be alright.
I can never touch the stars,
But I can hold you close.
    We are all connected,
We are all made from the stars.
    When we embrace,
    We embrace the cosmos.
    Take my hand,
We will travel into the starlight,
    And in this moment,
I know everything will be alright.
Lets become closer to the stars,
    Tonight,
    Then we ever dreamed possible.............................

    A flash
    Blinding
    An explosion
    Deafening

    Radioactive Decay
    Supernova
    Black Hole
    Big Crunch
    Time disintegrates and Existence vanishes.
And I am all that is left remaining
    Alone.

    Now I see,
    That like the stars
From which we only see their light,
    You are long gone.
    My memories
Like the starlight that has traveled far
    Through empty space
To pass through my empty eyes
    Has long been wandering alone
    In silence
    Separated from their founding source.

    When I close my eyes,
    I can see out,
    Unrestrained,
    Into the vastness of space.
    But it means nothing,
    When I know,
That when I open my eyes,
You will not be there by my side.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
