Caught In a Web of Lies

You’re the new kid in school

You keep telling yourself

It’ll be over soon

But it never seems to end

You keep lying to yourself

And everyone around you

And finally you’re caught

Caught in a web of lies

Lies that you’ve spread

There is no tomorrow for you

Your time is short

For the spider of truth

Has caught you in his web

And pretty soon you’re dead

Cause you got caught up in your lies

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
