As He Lies In His Despair
As He Lays In His Despair
He lays there now body tired and heart broken
The Zahra is gone and so is the last token
His cards turned and fortune read
He still didn’t listen to what they said
Foolish thoughts and hopeful dreams were spoken
Followed by let down and soul split wide open
What were those two kids actually thinking
That they could save each other while both still sinking
Tears shed, empty and lonely
He feels like it was all a phony
He sits and stares at the walls around
Comes to term with nightmare he’s found
He closes his eyes and can’t stop blinking
Afraid to from all the blinding thinking
He wants her heart to mend and hopes it thrives
He just didn’t know it would at his own demise
Time will tell if he’ll ever love again
The problem lies with where to begin
He prays for blessings on her to bestow
As he falls to his knees and his head hangs low
Lord let her know I truly loved her indeed
And I’m so sorry I wasn’t of what she was in need.
