  • How can you mend a broken heart if its been broken?

Poem Commentary

From a loving navy husband to his heart broken wife.

Angel Rain

I wish I am rich, I wish I am a witch, I wish I have a magic or trick,
So it's easy to see you anytime you wish. Many times in our lives my
days were your nights. So very far away with oceans between us.  Your
actions of always a loving wife, you have sacrificed your sleep, you
have sacrificed your work to be only with me which will always be
un-repayable.  I have taken for granted our time and love, I have leaned
astray from insuring nothing changed from the day we met, I have broken
a heart that I pray I can mend.  Words are like smoke; there here for a
second but disappear, and only past actions leave the impenetrable core.
Actions which I have forever slacked I hope I can change.  Thank you for
the laugh and smiles, Thank you for the time even you're far away 500
miles. For the countless hours you stayed awake by the screen waiting
just for a glimpse. For the patience of my unselfishness and idiocy of a
wimp.  Life is not perfect.  The bad times come as the good.  I cherish
your unbreakable love and commitment and wish I could model myself from
you my love. I always do believe that Life can and will get better. Life
was great when we first met, our love made nothing else in the world
matter.  You were my Eden love, you always have been, and you always
will be.  You may not believe me, or my words because they have been
broken soo many times before.  But I can only pray you believe in my
heart and forever hold me tight.  I am in there some where, just help me
pull out into the open again.  My tears fall like rain writing this poem
because I know how much you are hurting. And I know it's my actions that
have forever hurt you and they hurt us both inside.  But the tears will
pass like the calming of the waves. First we will see the birds again,
followed by the land.  And I will see my angel love again, followed by
her hand..

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
