    All For Me

    War is the ultimate destroyer.
    Anger is the ultimate destroyer.
    Greed is the ultimate destroyer.
When we sit down and indulge in these things,
    They swallow us whole.

Dark wings and shadows over our shoulders.
Dark hearts and souls that will crumble
These things inside us, in this world
    These are the ultimate destroyers.

Let us be thankful then, that there is an ultimate reason
    An ultimate right, an ultimate better to help us reason out our existence;
To show us there is hope
To show us there is an ultimate destiny.

If we would only seek long enough, hard enough
    That He will be found.
I pray those shadows never fall upon,
Those I love and those I hate.
May we finally begin to understand
That there is a place for us to land.

If only we would know that despite the ultimate destroyer
    There is an ultimate victory.
Though the casualties may seem high…
    There is an ultimate victory.
Though the valleys may seem low...
    There is an ultimate victory.
Though we have given our all, and then our souls...
    There is an ultimate victory.
Whether they hate and silence us...
    There is an ultimate victory.
Whether we see, the end or our children do...
    There is an ultimate victory.

And more and more I’m beginning to find
That if I could see the smile on your face one more time
If I could make you believe that somehow, we’d make it through
If I could show you the victory
    Help you forget the destruction
    My life would be complete.

    This would be my victory
And my memory would be all the more complete for it.

There are many rights and wrongs in this world.
So many I may never understand them.
But I would give my all for you to find the right way.
Because I know, someone gave their all for me.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
