    “Passion”

    “Passion”
    by
    Jack Dowdy

Passion, yes i thought i knew
And oh yes, i did love
Till the day when i lost you
    My angel from above
Yet ever shall i love thee still
    And ever shall i mourn
And i resolve to do God's will
To mend this heart so torn
To Christ i gave my soul
    Tattered as it was
For he was warm when the night was cold
And know my pain, he does
Forsaken was He and forsaken am i
By those we held so dear
And by his passion and his grace
I heal from tear to tear
    Passion and love truly beheld
    On that hardened knotted tree
So proven was my Lord's passion
When he bled and died for me
