A Twinkle in Hell

A Twinkle in Hell

There's so much I still must learn
So many bridges I have yet to burn
Shine on little star
Shine on above my head
So that I know you are still there
So that I know I have time to spare
How does it feel to be left in the dark;
To be surrounded by black?
If I met you in the depths of hell
Would I get a chance to ask you that?
Shine on little spec
Pierce through to my soul
For you are up so high
And I am so deathly low

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
