    A Lover's Dream

    I lay awake,
    In the late night hours.
I turn to the side and hold you in my arms.
I love the feel of your skin,
    The sound of your breath.
I slowly begin to fall asleep.
    As I begin to dream,
I see us years from now,
Our grandchildren will come to see us,
They'll wonder how we last so long.
We turn to each other and smile.
    That secret smile.
    That knowing smile.
    The one that says
    Love will never die.
