you're a disease

you're a disease

you're like a disease
spreading throughout my body
consuming me
an infection i could not prevent
nor escape.

like cancer,
you treat it and think its gone
but then it creeps back ever so slowly
without notice, no symptoms,
nothing to prepare you,
leaving you to question,
why me?

you consumed me with your lies
your sweet words that meant nothing.

a disease, that killed me from within.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
