You did it

You did it

Its your fault

You did this to me

Its why I can’t look in the mirror

and why my lips are sealed

You made me feel this way

Worthless

Weak

Wasted

How could you?

I was only ten

I looked up to you

like a father

You made me feel this way

Disgusted

Depressed

Distraught

You took me in that truck

That damned truck

Where no one could see

What you were about to do to me

You made me feel this way

Helpless

Heartless

Hopeless

My lips have one word for you

Hate

Because you know exactly

What you tried to do

You made me feel this way

Afraid

Alone

Ashamed

There’s one person

I hate more than you

That person is me

For keeping this a secret

Even though you kept it a secret, you finally got it off your chest. I hope he's paying the price.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
