    Wish You Were Here

To me you're like a painting
    the reflection of a ghost,
A fire I know better than to play with
but your flame I want to touch the most.

A transparent piece of the puzzle
    that my life is now,
You fade away and then reappear
with no explanation of why or how.

You say that I inspire you
am I merely but your muse,
I persistantly continue to play this game
that I'm destined to forever lose.

I cry for help but go unheard
to this misery I am bound,
I search for comfort inside myself
    though none is ever found.

Pink Floyd in the back ground
"Wish You Were Here" on repeat,
I watch the ones I love slowly fade away
    I'm left alone and obsolete.

Sometimes I feel though I'm merely an observer
    starting to fade away too,
I don't even recognize myself anymore
    be honest now do you?

I'm here in body, gone in mind
I try so hard to scream,
But no one hears me, I can not speak
I'm trapped with in a dream.

I give into the silence that now is my own
I let go of my fear,
Over and over it's on repeat
"oh how I wish you were here".

enjoyed reading this and looking forward to reading the rest

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
