Poem Commentary

I got the answer this morning, without having to ask for it.  I don't ponder "Why are we here?" very often, because I am satisfied with life.

Make with your hands from your imagination.  Writing poetry is exactly this.  You are changing something from your mind or imagination, and making it concrete or physical.  Musicians do this.  Bricklayers do this.  Hairdressers use their imagination constantly.   Every creation is unique.

It has been said that if you love your work, you'll never have to work a day in your life.  I work as a truck driver, but I use my imagination to create songs as I get paid.  Elvis drove a truck in Memphis, and used that opportunity to sing.  He did get pretty good at it!

I hope this poem connects you to you.

Why are we here?

Why are we here?

(Why am I here?  A prose poem)

As humans, we bring Imagination and Reality together. That is what we are here for. Human beings are here to bring the non physical world together with what is physical.

There is no scientific formula for God. But there is a formula for making a building. There is no formula for the style of that building, other than what the imagination has brought forth, and reality can support.

If you recall, the Earth began as dirt and water. Light, the Heavens, Sky all came from another source, I call God. Man was put on Earth to bring together this Physical World with the Spiritual World of which comes from the Imagination.

We are builders for that Spiritual realm, which is communicated through our imagination.  Have you ever wondered why it is true, that if we can imagine it, we can make it?  That is what we are designed to do.  Man.  Not plant.  Not Animal.  Man.

In the beginning we had dirt and water to work with. If you look around now, I would say we have done a pretty good job as humans, since our job is to bring reality together with imagination.

I imagine God did not want a universe full of rocks and water only.  He needed some way to get work done.  Something that could do the physical work of the spiritual imagination.

To find our purpose in life is simply as easy as putting to work our imagination.

Why are we here? We are here to bring together imagination with the physical world.

I love this platonic philosophy...especiall this line: We are builders for that Spiritual realm...Indeed we are...man is planted in the earth and he must bear fruit..and that is the spirit...^_^ v

You have a great line in your comment as well, "man is planted in the earth and he must bear fruit..and that is the spirit..."

Wow, and double wow. I have never heard of your perspective and find it very interesting; to explore the primary and ultimate question: "Why am I here?" And, my mind drifts back to when I was seven and was taught the answer as follows: God made me to love him and to serve Him in this world and to be happy in the next Your prose defines your stance on why we are here; it sure got the juices in my memory stirred. Stirred back to when during catechism classes we were told the answer and we replied in 'rote' cadence something like: "God made me to love him and to serve him and suffer in this world and to be happy in the next." I am pretty sure my memory serves me right as far as the answer we were taught. Your take is quite new to me: We are here to bring together imagination with the physical world. wow wowee 1

I was amazed to wake up and write that too. I know what you mean about Cathecism, I learned the same things. And maybe those things are true, for one kind of individual, but maybe for other kinds of individuals, something has been missing. And now it seems to be clear, to me anyways. This means everyone has a purpose, and it is defined by what they receive through their minds, and delivered by their hands? I don't know. It sure makes sense. Peace Out, The Compusician (EinStud) .

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
