Who Are You?

Who Are You?

Who Are You

Who are you? A work of the Devil or of God above
An angel or really a demon sent to steal all my love

Clearly the devil's work with your mesmerizing eyes
And that smile that puts lust in my mind

Or maybe it was God who sent me your comforting arms
With promises to NEVER do me any harm

Who are you? Do you have wings of torture and a heart of steel
Someone who's sweet now but later takes away my free will

Am I confused? Is it that you meanto fill my life with light
To love only me and let me choose with no fight

Do you make me love you, because God sent you to me
And that you promise to be here thru our destiny

Who do you serve? The Lord, our savior and king
Is it the devil in your heart who has free reign

The work of an angel or the devil in disguise?
The healing of an angel or a demon who misguides?

I know the truth now and it's plain to see
That the devil was only trying to break my faith, my heart, me

He couldn't get the others to do it, so he tried to steal you
But God had you first and to him you stayed true

I know who you are and who you were meant to be
You are the guardian of my heart, my love, my husband, my king

Thank you so much. Friends told me it was good but it's nice to have an outsider say the same.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
