    When You Take That Away

When you take that away --
You take what I know, is mine
    To me, my mind.
When you make me cover your eyes
    You are blind
    And cannot see my mind.
    You make me change
It all -- my life behind
    Hid in my mind.

I cry to cover you --
    Your blind soul
Push back all of which we know.
    Quiet mouths of remembrance
    Of hurt we still hold
    Deep within our souls.
    To say it, to forget
    But truly we know
    Too much to ever hold.

    I feel the pain
    As the days
    Show replays.
    You say a forgiveness
    But still always
    Reminders say
    And tell me how
    Wrong I lay
    And will always stay.
    It won’t go away.

    So when you take that,
    From me, Soul Blind
    Not let to find
    A way of hiding
    Only my mind,
    All I hear inside
    Makes me insane to feel
    The pain behind
    My mistake, my mind.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
