What passion remains

What passion remains

He sits alone in his room
Writing to a girl he once knew
Who'd cared about him before
Before he'd broke her heart

She feels his pain through the computer
It kills her inside
To know he was suffering
And they were too far apart

Never before had this girl done anything rash
Never before had she felt so devoted
To someone, muchless a guy
Yet she's willing to run to his side

He needs her so bad
He wants to curl into a ball and die
But her promise comes in clear
"I'll be there soon, don't fear"

Though the costs are high
For her a lot is at stake
Yet she'll give it all up
Just to see him smile...

Aww, this is soo sweet. It's a beautiful poem, and I was completely drawn to find the end. And what a wonderful end it was!

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
