Angel from Beyond
Carrying the burden of life,
And wishing for a better way.
An angel rides on through the night,
Looking for the day.
His brown eyes forever searching,
His dark curls flowing in the wind.
Never sure of what he's looking for,
And never knowing where to begin.
Weary of his endless travels,
He begins to lose hope.
When a kind young maiden takes him in,
Dressing him in the most comfortable of robes.
Why was this woman so kind,
As to dress a stranger in the best?
When she could have used the time,
To make herself a new dress.
Wearing close to rags,
She gives away silk threads.
Sleeping on the floor,
She gives the travler her bed.
This woman he decides,
Gives herself the lower end of life.
This must be why,
God had sent him on the search.
To find this maiden, with a heart so pure.
But years of wandering,
Have left him to decide.
He dosen't want to return so soon.
With this woman he will retire,
Teaching her there is more to life.
And in return she teaches him,
It's better to think of others needs ahead of your own.
