    WELCOME TO HELL

     Where am i?
    am i still dreaming?
what are those voices i hear?
    why are they screaming?
     i feel hot,
as if i were standing on the sun.
     tormenting voices in my head,
i look around, but see no one.
only a creature that i once knew,
    a liar and a cheat,
one who will deceive your trust,
    there's nothing he won't do.
     he'll promise you the world,
and all riches that go along.
he'll pick you up when you fall,
he'll put in your head a promising song.
     he will give you power,
to do with as you please.
     he'll open doors,
that you would not normally see.
he can reach out and touch you,
    with feelings of love,
     but be aware my freinds,
    it comes not from above.
     his love has a price,
    expensive to pay.
     no words can save you,
no one to hear you pray.
     the voices cease,
    i hear none but one.
     the growl of the beast,
    WECLOME TO HELL MY SON.

Compared to your other poems, this one's a masterpiece. There is a certain amount of imagery portayed here that is charmingly enticing. This poem has enough emotion and depiction to be read twice, but not three times. Try to expand your vocabulary so you will have the words you want when you want them. Maybe then you will be able to take your audience into the doors they would not normally see.

Great write, Steve. Surely many will be deceived, because his arts of cunning are so subtle. It's a good thing we have the Lord on our side.

Read My "Hell in a straight jacket", "Surfacing", and "illusion".. I think you could relate.. Maybe they can help you cope in some way. Nice write thanks for sharing. Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
