Trying to Change
I saw a man today,
That reminded me of you.
I became frightened and scared,
Not knowing what to do.
Instead of happiness and cheer,
I just looked for an escape.
For I fear a man I once loved,
Showing me a new kind of hate.
I've got to change my way of thinking,
Because men are not all the same.
For I too deserve to be loved,
Not just living in shame.
A man willing to love and understand,
Me for who I am.
Deserving a "Happily Ever After",
NOT my head in the sand.
