    Torpid

A pitter patter of baby fat upon varnished cherry oak - brimming with potential.

A fledged faultless - razor edged flawless.

Reverberating nothing but joy- reflecting nothing but love.

Bursting with bubbles of childish wonder and innocent awe.

I'm tripping, slipping, drifting away - no longer dreaming.

My dreams are bleeding - a cheap imitation of a forged masterpiece.

My faith is breaking - a zealous sliver of a jaded matter.

My hope scabbing - a painful lesson of a hard experience.

My live broken - a shattered remnant of a vibrant echo gone silent.

The ending left me dangling or expecting more!!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
