    Icarus Dreams

Icarus dared to fly upon waxed wings and dream too close to the sun,
only to find in that moment of rapture his eyes wide open.
Bounty the moment, realize the picture, believe the image, pay the fee, Icarus dream.
Dare I to wish upon hopes and dream too close to the stars, only to find in the moment of euphoria my eyes closed.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
