    TO A MOTHER-IN-LAW

    My mother has been gone
    For many years
    I miss her much
    And have shed my tears
    But you stepped in
    On many days
    Showing me love and kindness
    In many ways
    I made some mistakes
    I committed a crime
    So I'm sittin' in jail
    Serving my time
    I've done some things
    I'd like to forget
    But your maternal affections
    I'll never regret
    So thanks for the love
    And the friendliness too
For a real friend and mother
    I have in you.

Sky this is a very sweet poem. I don't know personally how lonely a jail can get but I do have a brother that went and wasn't guilty. Bless you and may all your dreams be reached. I rated your poem please return the favor. Have a great day. Sassy
