    RENDERED WEAK

    In trouble once again,
So many new charges, I'll never make bail
Lying awake, wishing I were out there
Regretting my actions, that've got me here.

Such a smart guy, such a stupid mistake
I know what to do, what steps to take
Yet the drugs take over me, everytime
Warpin' my brain, makin' me do crime.

So many times, I've sat here before
Every time I get out, the drugs: I do more
Why can't I live, a more normal life?
How can I win with, such drug filled with strife?

Holidays and birthdays, I seem to miss them all
I do well for a while, then I take a fall
I have a serious drug problem, this I know
I want to kick the habit, let my life grow

Sometimes I pray, for blessed death
And it'll come, if I keep using Meth
But death of my body isn't what I seek
It's death of this habit, that's rendered me weak

I truly enjoyed this poem and share your pain. I don't write much about my addictions but you've inspired me

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
