Thunderbolt From the Sky
Clear blue sky, summer wind whirling by
Birds are chirping and the pigeons fly
Kids are playing, as the babies cry
Minding my business, like any normal day
and like a thunderbolt, it drops from the sky
the news that you have died
I fell to my knees and I started to cry
the lighting news struck me,
like a tornado rushing by
as it took my breath away
and I asked God, oh why
did he took you so soon,
without letting me saying
goodbye
This death has stunned me
and the tears run from my eyes
as I remembered only yesterday
I was teasing you of how calm
and cool you can be
but what I didn't know you were hiding
from me, the agony of your
pain and suffering,
and all that you can endure
to be with me there as your friend
Now you are gone my friend
and I am left here with this pain of mine
which I know, I should let it all flow
but I am going to wipe this pain away
and remember the good times
that I have had with you
sitting by the cafe and thinking about
the things that would make us smile
I will remember when we would get together
and talk about the good old times
reminiscing about our past
and what it used to be
discussing our priorities and sometimes
good old history and
even once in a while
throw in religion and politics too
This I will remember my friend, the good old times
And of your goodnes to us, human kind
I will praise your name and pray for you
and I hope that God Almighty bless your soul
and keep you safe, as you were one of the best
that there could ever be
and you my friend, deserves the best
as at the tender age of 29
in God's garden, holding you
and embracing you
