This Person:Me
This Person:Me
Deep inside are feelings that I long to express to all,
Yet also sometimes I feel like my back is to a wall.
So many times the words just won't come out so right,
I find it hard to say what I feel without an inner fight.
My guard is always on as if I'm in a survival mode,
Don't want to show weakness so I live by the code.
Too proud to say I'm sorry when situations are outta hand,
Yet deep inside I am hiding my head in the sand.
This Person:Me-Tends to be a friend to many but to myself a foe,
I'm so hard on myself at times and things I can't let go.
This Person:Me-Is a tattered mess at times I do confess,
But I always wish everyone I know so much happiness.
I stand by my word and will admit if I am wrong it's my way,
I don't want to feel like I was untrue to anybody today.
There are moments when I look back and see things I regret,
But those people and those memories I will never forget.
I may be long gone in their minds but to me they are still in heart,
For maybe we went seperate ways and were meant to drift apart.
I still say a prayer that they will find what they dream about,
I have a life to live and I am learning to let myself out.
This Person:Me-Is my conscience and my guide to a better day,
I need to listen more to my instincts and not go astray.
This Person:Me-I need to be true to myself and be sincere,
I can't hide from the world or live a life based on fear.
